We provide Application Development, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, Technology Support services, Project Management and Information Security services to the DMHC!

Learn About Required Examinations

Before you can apply for an open position, you may be required to take an examination which consists of a series of questions that help determine if you are qualified to apply for the position.

About the Job:
The Senior Software and Solution Developer works both independently and as part of a team to configure Software as a Service (SaaS) and Application Platform as a Service (aPaaS) solutions, as well as develops and maintains custom software by leveraging the Microsoft .NET framework. Performs requirements analysis, design, configuration, software development, unit testing, peer code review, implementation and support for complex system development projects and departmental databases, cloud-based applications, and Microsoft .NET custom applications. Uses analytical skills to interpret requirements and develop accessible solutions deployed as web-based applications. Research technologies and collaborate with other developers on multi-system projects.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)?

Yes and No! Some jobs require an SOQ, and other jobs do not. If an SOQ is required, it will be specified in the Application instructions.

What happens after I submit my application?

The hiring manager will be notified of your application, and it will be reviewed and scored.

  • After your application has been reviewed, HR will do a Minimum Qualifications check and let the hiring manager know whether you are eligible to be considered for an interview.
  • If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified by email or phone and an interview will be scheduled.
  • You will participate in the interview process (with a multi-person panel). Finalists may be asked back for a second interview, technical evaluation, or informal meeting.

Does the DMHC offer full-time telework?

The DMHC supports a hybrid telework schedule to four days per week in-office, to the extent possible from an approved alternate work location or home office, based on operational needs and space availability. On in-office work days, you will be required to report to the DMHC office specified in the job posting (Downtown Sacramento or Rancho Cordova). When working in the office, employees may be required to utilize a shared or “hotel” workspace. When working remote, you must be located in the State of California.

Are all positions governed by a union collective bargaining agreement?

No. Manager, Supervisor and IT Specialist III positions are not governed by a collective bargaining agreement.
