Website Accessibility

The Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) is committed to making our website accessible to all visitors, including visitors with disabilities. The Department continuously works to design and develop this website to comply with current standards set forth in law and regulation.

The DMHC recommends using the Google Chrome internet browser for optimal use with assistive technology for accessibility, such as screen readers. Below you will find information on standard usability features for some common internet browsers:


Google Chrome

Adjust Text, Image and Video Sizes:

  1. In Google Chrome, select “Customize and Control Google Chrome.”
  2. Select “Settings.”
  3. Under “Appearance,” make the desired adjustments:
    1. Change Everything: Next to “Page Zoom,” click the Down arrow. Then select the desired zoom option.
    2. Change font size: Next to “Font Size,” click the Down arrow. Then select the desired font size.

Adjust Color Contrast:

Google Chrome offers various extensions that allow users to change the color contrast of webpages. Visit the Chrome Web Store to view available extensions.

Internet Explorer

Adjust Text Size:

  1. In Internet Explorer, press the “Alt” key to display the menu bar.
  2. Select “View,” and then select “Text Size.”
  3. Choose to make the text larger or smaller.

Adjust Color Contrast:

To adjust the color contrast for Internet Explorer:

  1. In Internet Explorer, press the “Alt” key to display the menu bar.
  2. Select the “Tools” menu.
  3. Select “Internet options.”
  4. Under the “General” tab, select “Accessibility. “
  5. Place a check mark in the box to “Ignore colors specified on webpages” and select the “OK” box. This will return you to the “General” tab.
  6. Select the “Colors” box and un-check the “Use Windows colors” box.
  7. Use the “Text,” “Background,” “Unvisited links,” and “Visited links” boxes to select the colors desired (example: white text and black background).
  8. Select the “OK” box and then the “OK” box on the “General” tab and the colors should change on the browser.

Safari

Adjust Text Size:

  2. To decrease the text size, press Option-Command-Minus Sign (-)
